In ancient Greek city-states the Agora was a central meeting place where citizens met to discuss politics, sports, and exchange gossip; in the post-world war II Niagara Falls, New York, Polish community Tiny’s Tavern served the same functions. This is a true story of Joey, a young boy growing up with one foot anchored in his Polish heritage, and the other foot reaching for the outside world. Violence, death, and the attentions of a neighborhood whore were important factors that shaped the young boy’s character.
